In Gridware, the term “charging farm” refers to a complex smart-grid topology, which may not be exclusively composed of charging stations.
A typical example would be a parking-lot with charging-stations and a solar energy plant.
The prosumers (i.e. local electricity-sources) of a charging farm are usually represented by smart meters.
The concept of a charging farm is used to realize a comprehensive energy-management with a dynamically set maximum-value. Other than that it is very similar to a charging cluster.
