Balancing-Interval

Balancing-Interval

The balancing-interval is a setting of the energy-management algorithm. It defines the interval between each redistribution of the balancing current. Due to this, the balancing-interval also determines how fast the smart grid can react to external influences.

Examples for external influences:

  • A usage was terminated.
  • An externally defined maximum-value did change.
  • A smart meter reported the energy-consumption of a third-party consumer

Reacting instantly to such events would cause turbulence in the system. By aggregating them in a sensible fashion such turmoil can be avoided, thereby providing a stable and predictable user-experience.
